East Side kids have been working hard this summer on a number of film projects. They have been documenting a mural arts program here in Newark for the “City Without Walls” gallery and are now working with the New Jersey Libraries to produce PSAs for cable television

The big news is that their film “Fernium 8” which has won many awards the last six months including: “Best Fiction” in the 6th Annual Newark Public School’s Film Festival, “Honorable Mention” in the 35th Annual New Jersey Young Film & Video Maker’s Festival and “Official Selection” of the 2009 Princeton Student Film & Video Festival has now been selected for the Four River Film Festival in Karlovak, Croatia. Yes folks, our kids have gone international! Also, it is the only film from the United States in a program consisting of 45 films from all parts of the world including: Bangladesh, UK, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Finland.
